Question Hi Dan, I have to write a small term paper on EU customs, but for some
reason I am not convince of the following paragraph. Could you pls.
proofread it for me?
Customs Procedures
Following the purpose of the products to be imported, there are different
customs procedures. Goods may be imported to be sold, repaired,
temporarily stored, re-exported and for many other of reasons.
In general, these are the most common customs procedures:
1.
2.
3.
Here are the main questions:
1. Is the beginning of the paragraph understandable "Following the purpose
of the products to be imported"? I am actually trying to say "depending how
the imported products are going to be used (whether they will be worked into
other products and be re-exported or stay in the country etc.)" in a more
elegant way.
2.Would you write " In general" before ennumerating the customs procedures?
Thanks!
Answer Try this.
<<Depending on the reason goods are imported, different procedures are followed by custom. Among the different reasons are importation for sale, importation for repair, and importation as components of other products that will be exported.>>
