Question Hi, I have to create my own utopia, an idealistic country with its own history and map.
I have to make up a country of my own and list everything about it:
-capital city
-population
-culture of country
-languages spoken there
-create currency and give its equivalent to the American dollar
-describe the government
-what type of landforms, climates, and vegetation are in your country?
And I don't know what any of that means, I'm so stuck and I can't think of anything or any ideas!!!
Please help me with any suggestions and pleaseee answer asap because I need to start this project soon!!!!
Answer Sounds like an interesting project. The first thing to do is relax. It sounds like you have a great deal of freedom to be creative. Don't worry about getting things "right" or "wrong." There is no one right answer here. As long as you cover the bullet points I think you'll do fine.
First, make sure you understand the term "utopia." Look it up in the dictionary or find some examples of utopian societies online. A utopia is simply a "perfect world." Think of a place you would love to live. Then let your imagination run wild. Create a name for your country and a capital city. Draw a map of your country. Will it be surrounded by water? Will it have mountains? Will it be a rainforest?
Decide how many people will live there and what language they will speak. You can choose a language you know or make one up. It's all up to you!
What sort of culture will this country have? Will it be an agricultural community with farmers and lots of land and animals, or will it be an urban community with tall buildings and lots of cars and people?
For currency, decide what they will use for money. Make up a name for the money, and then decide if it's worth more or less than the American dollar.
What kind of government will your country have? Is it a democracy like the U.S. or a communist government like China? You can even make up your own kind of government.
Have fun with this project. It sounds very creative. If you are still stuck, talk to your teacher about it. He or she should be able to give you some guidance.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
