School papers, Essays, Dissertations/Is it correct....

How are you? Is the following sentence correct?

Workers were fired because of insulting the manager.

Thank you

Hi Hamed,

The sentence is correct but could be better in a couple of ways.

"Workers were fired because they insulted the manager."

But the sentence is still in passive voice, and that is generally a weaker construction than active voice as below.

"The company fired workers who insulted the manager."

Generally, try to avoid the passive voice unless it is really needed.

Hope this helps.
