Question
I don't know how to start my essay

Evaluate the relative importance of the following factors prompting americans to rebel in 1776: a) parlimentary taxation, b) restriction of civil liberties, c) british military measures, d) the legacy of colonial religious and political ideas

Answer
Try this.

Among the reasons the American colonists revolted were parliamentary taxation, restriction of civil liberties, British military measures, and conflicts between the political and religious views of Britons and the Americans. These were not equally important, however, to all people, and their relative importance to different segments of American society played a role in determining the commitment of the different colonies to independence.

Then go on from there.

Hope this helps.
