Subject: Looking for old SF series

Question
Back in late 60's I read several books concerning earth people finding alien spaceship.  They Subsequently take to space and have many adventures with this found technology.  Along the way they find  the owners, have battles, go to new worlds, etc.  Ships were spherical shaped. Thought may be a British author or publisher.

Can you help?

Answer
There are dozens of such books.  My personal favorite is a short story called First Contact, collected in the anthology The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Volume One.  No, it's not the series you are thinking of.  The series you want is most likely a juvenile series, and I don't have those books any more to look up the title.  Try googling some of the keywords to see if you can locate them online.
