Question Hello, about 40 years ago i read a wonderful story about a young man and his peers going through a series of carrer testing programs and then awaiting test results. he had high hopes but was ultimately told he really was not qualified for anything substantial. he rebelled/escaped to somehow prove he really was smart and talented, only to find that it was all a big "truman show" type of set-up to force him to go deeply into himself and discover his truly gifted creative abilities.
thank you so much!

Answer There are many such stories. My favorite is by Isaac Asmiov, titled "Profession" and appears in the anthology "Nine Tomorrows."
