Question
In the 1970's I read a book about an ex soldier who can teleport himself using his mind when he is in danger. That is how the novel begins he is in a tank in korea and when it is hit he finds himself in a rice paddy miles away. He then has a car accident and ends up in a river drowning he puts a tube that a girl gave him to his ear and is transported to the future millions of years in the future where he battles to save man kind and the future city. Do you happen to know the tittle or author.

Answer
Sorry - didn't read this book.  I can recommend the excellent novel The Time Traveler's Wife, about a man who travels through time, but the travel is not under his control.  Try googling key words for your book.

You can also try this list of military SF and see if the title or author rings a bell.
