Science Fiction Books - Book title

Expert: Sue Kayton - 4/25/2009

Question
My husband is looking for a book he read in the 60s or 70s; he thought the title was The Edified World (I can't find anything listed under that title). As the world got worse, companies moved their people into large edifices. Others remained outside and tried to change the world. Would appreciate any help in clarifying the title, if possible. Thanx.

Answer
Never read the story.  Is this title familiar?

Edifice Complex, short story publiched in Escapade Feb 1958, and in
Atoms and Evil, Gold Medal 1962

There are many stories about people living in giant cities, such as Asimov's Caves of Steel.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
