Question A space ship is intercepted by aliens, and some of the `unwanted` were dropped off on a very inhospitable planet. They learn to adapt, and some generations later -the aliens return, and are defeated by the `survivors` who use their ship to go on to help the other humans.
Answer Sorry - never read this one. My favorite book about unwanted dropped on an unhospitable planet is Infinity Hold by Barry Longyear. Hard to find, but worth the effort. If you can't find it anyplace else, you can buy a copy through www.backinprint.com
If you like Infinity Hold, there are two sequels. All three books are available as Infinity Hold 3, or just the first book as Infinity Hold.
