Question
Hello Sue,

I am after the name of a 50's SF story from a book containing several SF stories. it is a very short one as i remember and the first scene of the story is a man watching a ballet dancer on TV when suddenly the ballet dancer holds her ears and falls down. it was due to a "freedom" related thought she had. the government implanted something in peoples heads so they cannot think thoughts of freedom or any deep thoughts. this is what i remember.

i appreciate your help!

Oren

Answer
One of my favorite SF short stories.  Title is "Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut.  It is collected in the anthology "Welcome to the Monkey House".  Check your local library.  You may be able to find the e-text online by Googling the story title or via a link from the Wikipedia article.
