2. WHY DOESN’T IT HAVE THE SAME MOISTURE ON IT WHILE IT IS IN THE FRIDGE???
3. WHEN A CAN IS FROZEN IT BURSTS.WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN???
4. WHY DO BUBBLES FORM IN IT WHEN THE COKE IS POURED INTO THE GLASS???
5. WHY DOES SOME BUBBLE SEEM TO STEAM TO ONE POINT???
6. WHAT ARE THE BUBBLES MADE OF???HOW DID THEY GET INTO THE COKE???
7. WHY DOES WARM COKE GO FLAT???
8. ARE THE INGREDIANTS IN COKE SOLUBLE OR INSOLUBLE???
9. HOW MUCH WATER IS THERE IN A CAN OF COKE???
10. MIX SOME COKE WITH SOME SODIUM BICARBONATE, EXPLAIN WHAT YOU OBSERVE.
12. COKE IS CLAIMED TO BE USEFUL FOR ALL KINDS OF PURPOSES.FIND OT SOME OF THESE USES AND SCIENTIFICALLY TEST ONE OF THESE CLAIMED USES.

Answer
Hi Renae,

1) what you have observed is called condensation.  The cold can from the fridge draws moisture out of the warm air in the house.  A dehumidifier works the same way or an airconditioner works the same way but pulling extramoisture from the warm air in the house.

2) In the fridge, the air is cold so can not hold as much moisture.

3) The can bursts because the water in the can expands as it freezes

4, 5 and 6) The bubbles are made of carbon dioxide which is injected into the Coke under pressure. When the can is opened, this pressure is released and  the bubbles come the surface. When poured into a glass or over ice, the bubbles fizz up which is caused by the sudden action of changing temperature and hitting multiple surcfaces.  It looks like steam some times because it is cold and causes condensation to occur.  It could also  be the small bits of coke flying away from the exploding bubbles.

7 Warm coke goes flat when all of the carbon dioxide escapes from the coke, warm coke goes flat faster because the carbon dioxide can escape easier.

8) They are all soluable.

9) Coke is 98% water by weight.

10) The Sodium Bicarbonate causes the carbon dioxide to come out of solution very fast so it creates an explosion of carbon dioxide gas.

11) Coke can disolve calcium carbonate.  You can get some calcium carbonate crystals and then test to see how long it takes to disolve them.
