Question
if you were building a house, list materials that are made of minerals that you would use and explain why you would use them?

Answer
A traditional Western-style house obviously uses very different materials than a teepee, Mongolian yurt, New Guinea log house, etc.

Western-style house:

wood
copper (for wiring)
plastic (pipes and insulation for wiring)
asphalt and gravel (roof shingles)
glass
nails and metal brackets (iron and steel)
paint
ceramic tile (counters, sinks, and toilets)
