Science for Kids - Cup of Water Heater

Expert: Sue Kayton - 10/21/2009

Question
First of all thanks for you to giving me this opertunity,  I would like to heat a cup of tea with a batter heater. Is it possible. If any, kindly help me in that way.  Thank You.

Answer
I never heard of a batter heater.  Do you want to use a battery to heat a cup of tea?  If so, get a piece of high-resistance insulated wire or a resistor, and attach it across the leads to the battery.  Then immerse the wire (or resistor) in the liquid.  As the electricity passes through the wire, it will heat the liquid.
