Science for Kids - Egg Drop

Expert: Sue Kayton - 10/27/2009

Question
Hi,

My class is having a egg drop and we need to drop it from 2 meters
I only have a limited supply:

Masking Tape
Cardboard
Newspaper
Paper
Popsicle Sticks
Elastic Bands
Paper Clips
Drinking Straws

Thanks!!

Answer
Experiment with a hard-boiled egg.  Try to build something to surround the egg to absorb energy so the structure crumples and protects the egg.  Try stuff, change the design, try more stuff.  Keep trying until the egg survives.  If you have a limited supply of stuff, buy some extra stuff at the grocery store for the experiments.
