Scientology/tone

Question
Hi Laurie,

What kinds of experiences could make a person got into "no sympathy" (1.2) on the tone scale? It's a very low-level emotion but one that I seem to spend 75% of my life in.

Also, without auditing, how much of a  higher tone (from your regular tone) can you permanently achieve?

Answer
That's hard to guess.  Anything that drives one down tone, drives them down tone - if you catch my meaning.

It occurs to me it might be an easy default tone level to be at, in avoidance of pain.  The tones right below pain,(anger, hate, resentment) take a good deal more energy than "no sympathy" does, and tend not to be as safe.

But how a person gets there is totally a matter of the person's own unique case.

Experience

I am a second generation Scientologist whose parents began in Dianetics in 1950 and studied directly with L. Ron Hubbard. I have been personally active in the church for 42 years, have eleven years former staff experience in both technical and administrative areas, and extensive technical and administative training and counseling. I am "clear" and "OT." I come from an extended family of many religions, but my spouse and children are Scientologists, as are my siblings and their spouses, several cousins, nieces, nephews, an aunt, and an uncle. Between us we have had every good and bad experience one might go through in the church at every level.
