Scientology - Rundown on Management
Expert: Mick Wenlock - 11/2/2009
Question I get I weird vibe from David when he does his speeches. Do you think he believes in the tech. Can you give me a basic overview of the structure of management and underlings, orgs etc? A crash course in the structure thereof basically..
Also, being honest with yourself, you can say that there is no glimmer of truth in the writings of Ron?
Answer Hi Mike,
I think - and this is just an opinion - that he does actually believe in some part of Scientology. I also suspect that there are parts he thinks do not work.
Well a basic overview would be - Scientology divides up the management of their organizations both geographically and in a hierarchical way. The basic main unit is called Class V org (short for organization). There are other smaller units called "Missions" but basically the orgs are the bedrock.
Orgs are grouped by their geographical area and are overseen but what Scientology refers to as Continental Liaison Offices (CLO's which are manned by Sea Org members who oversee the health of the Orgs and drive them to produce. The various continents are Europe (EU), United Kingdom (UK), Africa (AF) Australia, New Zealand, Oceania (ANZO) Western United States (WUS) Eastern United States (EUS) Latin America (LATAM), There have been CLOs in Canada and Italy but I am not sure if they are still there and the whole Eastern Europe set up is new. The CLOs are run by a management organization based in Los Angeles called originally the Flag Bureaux, then the Flag Command Bureaux and then the Flag Liaison Organization. This entire structure exists just to monitor and demand production from the orgs.
In addition to the Class V Orgs there are delivery orgs that deliver the "upper levels". They are manned by Sea Org members and they generate large amounts of money. They are located in Los Angeles, Clearwater, Saint Hill England, Copenhagen Denmark and Sydney Australia. In Los Angeles there are three of these Sea org Orgs - Advanced Organization Los Angeles (AOLA), American Saint Hill Organization Day (ASHO Day) and ASHO Foundation.Basically the two "ASHO" s occupy the same building with the day staff running the organization Monday through Friday from 09:00 until 18:00 and ASHO Foundation running it the rest of the time. In Clearwater there is the biggest Sea Org Org - The Flag Service Organization, it is so much bigger than the rest of the SO Orgs, it has probably 1,200 staff or so and it generates anywhere from 1 to 2 million dollars of income per week.
The three organizations outside of the USA are called Advanced Organization Saint Hills (AOSH).So there is AOSH EU, AOSH UK and AOSH ANZO.
Now surrounding that entire structure are various organizations originally set up by Hubbard and now run by Miscavige. The CMO (Commodores Messenger Organization), Religious Technology Center (RTC), ASI (Authors Services INc), Church of Spiritual Technology (CST) all of these organizations are used to control various choke points on the "Church". CST owns the material, RTC "licenses" it, ASI owns Hubbards Copyrights the CMO oversees management. There are more than these even but that will sort of cover it for now.
The use of acronyms is prevalent throughout Scientology.
Thats the crash course. Overseeing it all, the man at the top is David Miscavige.
Your last point is not something that I cover. I do not bother commenting on the "tech". If you believe in it that is your business. Not mine.
