Scientology - Disconnection Policy

Expert: David Rice - 4/14/2006

Question
If I buy some Scientology and my family objects, will I be required by Scientology to never see or hear from my family ever again? Or have I read the Scientology disconnection policy inforrectly? I read the "answer" to this question previously in Allexperts but the "expert" appeared to be ignorant on the issue.

Thank you.

Answer
Hi. While Scientology salespeople and management staff are required to abandon their family and friends if said family and friends are knowledgable about Scientology, Scientology customers are not as a general rule subjected to the Scientology disconnect policy. If you just purchase a little Scientology and find your family and/or friendsobject, the corporation will certainly insist you purchase some more, but they will not also insist you "disconnect."

H=owever, if you join the Scientology sales force or join Scientology staff, you will certainly be ordered to "handle" your family and friends by trying to make your family and friends cease their objections. In most cases that will fail, so you would be required to send each and every one of them a "disconnect letter" telling them you no longer are allowed to see them, hear from them, or have anything to do with them..... that includes divorcing your spouse and abandoning your children.

I can give you many examples if you wish, from Scientology salespeople and Scientology management people who were required to "disconnect" from their spouses, family, and friends. If you want them just ask and I'll forward them to you.
