Scottish Culture/Family Woodbyrne

Question
I am trying to trace my husband's family.  His father was John Alphonsus Woodbyrne, his father was Andrew Woodbyrne.  From info I have these individuals were born in Ireland. However, that is as far as I can find anything and I have been told the family originated in Scotland. Do you have any information about this family?

Answer
 Hi Gladys
I am sorry I don't have any information on your family.  Familysearch.org list very few people with your surname but lists a few from Waxford and Dublin. I guess the best place to tell you to search some ship logs and immigrations sites like Ellis Island.  Your family must have gone through several names changes and immigration records and land records may pick them up.
Also search with different spelling of the names.  Very often the clerks wrote peoples surnames as they heard it!
