Scottish Culture - Migration out of Scotland to England

Question According to the English 1871 census report my great-grandfather (1841) and great-great-grandfather (1804) were both born in Scotland. At the 1871 census they were living in Tiddington, a hamlet in Alveston, near Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire. My GGrandfather was said to have been a shepherd in that area.
I was wondering if you could shed some light on the likely migration implications for their relocation to England sometime between 1841 and 1871? They are descended from a well documented and ancient Scottish Highland family from the area of Inverness but 'the troubles' their cadet lines endured along the way led to them in extreme poverty in the late 1800's in industrial Birmingham.
I have considered the Clearances as a likely cause of their migration but cannot find England being mentioned as a strong candidate for their relocation. And why Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire? Could it be that a landowners was involved in their relocation out of Scotland to pastures in Warwickshire ?
Your observations and suggestions for these findings would be most appreciated. Regards . George F. Rose
Answer Hi George, thanks for the question. Your question requies too much research for this forum and the time constraints placed on it. The only suggestions I can give would be that sometimes people moved for sick relatives--perhaps mother-in-law? Or as you ssuggest because of a lack of work they move to an area a friend as suggested for work. As to Statford Upon Avon I have no further clues. Sorry I can't help you out more!
Thanks for the question
