The legacy of notable Scots in the US and the world is quite extensive and who's who in America. Geo Washington, Ben Franklin, Geo Patton, Davy Crocket, Daniel Boon, John Paul Jones, Patrick Henry the list is endless and iconic every one of them. From the guy who invented the steam engine, James Watt to many explorers and war heroes. Many were quiet but deliberate in servitude it is the way of the Scots in life as it is in work.

Further information on this subject may be obtained by putting "highland clearances" in to your search engine.   This was a period of the nineteenth century when sheep were considered to be more economically viable than humans, who were forced off the land by the owners to seek a living in North America, New Zealand and Australia.
