Scuba Diving - chainmael mesh

Expert: Henry P. Babcock - 3/9/2009

Question
I am wanting to make an armored suit for my horse for a (Renaissance reenactment)but I haven't been able to find the wire mesh, except in shark suits. Do you have any idea where I might be able to buy it. Or who manufactures it. Thank You Debbie

Answer
Hi Debbie,

I did a quick search for "chain maille" and found a couple of sites, but I will direct you to Wikipedia's entry, as they have several different spellings you could try:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mail_(armour)

There's also info about using chain maille for re-enactments, etc.

Try searching on the various spellings shown on the Wiki page and you should find what you are looking for.

Hope this helps,

Henry Babcock
