Subject: moving website to new domain

Question
Hi
I have copied the pages to my new domain.(not indexed yet) The old website is still live.

However I have changed the names of 12 of my html pages

How do I carry out a 301 direct in this situation

What I have so far is at the end of the question


but what about the other pages that have the same names
I don't really want to have do a separate redirect line for each. Please can you help

Answer
I prefer to do it the way you have above. Remember you only need to do this for pages that are actually indexed. My procedure is usually to get my point of entry data and then build the 301's for that.

Sometimes it is just easy to builds a script that makes your list of pages and then paste it all together.
