Question
my friend has a 451 retirement fund offered at work by lincoln. instead of the company putting the money every paycheck in the retirement account they were taking the money and using it for other things. this is money that my friend has been thinking he has had in this account only to find out that it is not there. If you cannot answer this question ,could you please recommend someone I can talk to?

Answer
It sounds like your friend should hire an employment lawyer who represents employees and who practices in your location. I suggest that, if you do not know anyone who can make a personal recommendation, you might try the local bar association's lawyer referral service. The American Bar Association sponsors an internet directory of these services at http://www.abanet.org/referral/home.html.

In addition to whatever else you do, you should also look at the Martindale-Hubbell directory, which is a national directory of lawyers by city containing a wealth of information, including descriptions of areas of practice, resumes, and ratings of lawyers and firms for both ability and ethics.  They have an online lawyer locater at http://www.martindale.com

Thanks for writing. I hope this helps.
