Security & Fire Protection Systems - House Fire

Expert: Steven Burman - 6/10/2009

Question
If your house is on fire, what is the first thing besides family/pets you would grab

Answer
Denise,

NOTHING!!!! There is nothing you own that could be worth even a single seconds delay in getting out of the house. Important papers, records, etc, should be stored off-site or in a fire-proof safe.

Get the family out first. (Have and practice an evacuation plan, know where everybody should meet up)
Get the pets out second, if safely possible. (I have 2 dogs and 2 cats that I love like my kids, but what does your family need most - you or the pet?)
Get yourself out ASAP.

Hope you never need to use this advice!!
