Security & Fire Protection Systems - Morse MDC 8C Alarm System

Expert: Dave Neuweiler - 6/25/2009

Question
I have the system identified in the Subject area. Do you know a potential source for a keypad for the system? The keypad for the MDC 16C looks the same and may work. Any thought about that?

Answer
Hello Woody, and thanks for writing.

I never worked much with Morse equipment, and the line as far as I know, has been obsolete for many years.

I checked a couple of parts sources, and found only one Morse item (not a keypad). E-Bay sometimes is a source for obsolete equipment, but that came up dry as well.

If you have access to an MDC 16C keypad, I'd say go ahead and try it. You have little to lose. If it doesn't work, you can replace the panel and keypads with something more up-to-date -- and I think you'll be surprised at how inexpensive it can be. Take a look here at alarm kits:

I hope this helps!

Best Regards,

Dave
