Question Alarm would be set but the chime would start beeping at anytime . Next to the chime on the lcd screen ,would be BAT. What can i do ,already tried turning Chime off or is there a battery for Chime and where is it?
Answer Victor,
There are 2 possible reasons -
1 - If you have a wireless system, it is telling you that one of the transmitters has a low battery that needs to be replaced. There should be a zone number next to the "bat".
2 - If you have a hardwired system, or there is no zone designator next to "bat", then the system is telling you that the main back-up battery needs to be replaced. It is located in the control panel enclosure, which is the main box for your alarm. Not the keypad, this will be a box mounted in a closet or somewhere.
