Security & Fire Protection Systems/Where sprinkler need to be

Hi Dominick,

What are the requirement of where sprinklers need to be?  Must they be in all rooms or only occupied rooms, and can certain rooms be exempt like storage rooms or server rooms?

The installation standards NFPA 13, 13D, 13R do not require fire sprinklers in some residential areas of small closets or small bathrooms. Other areas as you mentioned may use other technogy such as CO2 systems. Elevator shafts and elevator mechanical rooms I think have exemptions which are on line .
