Question
Trouble Display indicates a Defective Stand-by Battery.

Where is this located? In the keypads, or in the unit in the basement? How do I fix this problem myself?

Answer
Hello Todd, and thanks for your question.

The standby battery is located in the main control panel. It looks like you've found it in your basement.

To replace it, you need three pieces of information. All three will be printed on the battery. These are:

1. The Voltage
2. The Capacity (a number expressed in ampere-hours, like 7 AH)
3. The type (Lead Acid; Gel Cel)

Most have clip-on connectors that pull right off.

To find a replacement battery, once you have the information, do a Google search on DIY Alarm Parts. You'll find dozens of Web sites from which you can search and find the battery.

Good luck!

Dave
