Question Dear Dave-
I am gettign an alarm system put in- wireless with a motion
detector. do you recomend putting a sensor on every window
on the first floor and basement? is it neccesary if you have a
motion detector ?
I am also a volunteer on this site and find it very rewarding.
hope you do to.
thanks, mary
Answer Hi Mary, and thanks for your question.
Is motion detection important? Sure. Consider this: a window contact detects when the window (or door) is opened. But what happens if a burglar breaks the glass? With just a contact -- nothing.
Motion detection will detect a burglar's entry after breaking a window.
I hope this helps, and please write again if you have other questions.
