About Ariela
Expertise
I own all the DVDs, and have watched all of the special features and commentaries on all the episodes, most of them several times. I have whole sections of dialouge memorized as well as knowing a lot of little details. I'm good at placing a random quote, character, or scene, into its correct episode and season. I can also fill you in on all details of any minor character that ever appeared on the show or any answer any minor triva-type questions. However, I don't know much about the actor's real lives, or products seen on the show.

Question
Hi
I'm trying to find out which season and the name of the episode when Elaine was dating a guy that she couldn't wait to get rid of.  She got a crazy alarm from Kramer which didn't end up working, so she slept in when she was supposed to drive him to the airport and ended up driving like a maniac to try and get him to the airport in time.
Thank you!

Answer
Hi Ben,

The episode you're thinking of is called "The Busboy," of the second season. As a side note, the alarm was actually not from Kramer, it just didn't work. I know it seems like something he would give her, but . . .

JERRY: "You still using that old alarm clock?"

ELAINE: "Oh, no, no. I bought a new one today. It's got everything - it's got everything... If you oversleep more than ten minutes, a hand comes out and slaps you in the face!"

. . . and just in case you're interested, the driving to the airport monologue . . .

ELAINE: "I never knew I could drive like that. I was going faster than I've ever gone before, and yet, it all seemed to be happening in slow motion. I was seeing three and four moves ahead, weaving in and out of lanes like an Olympic skier on a gold metal run. I knew I was challenging the very laws of physics. At Queens Boulevard, I took the shoulder. At Jewel Avenue, I used the median. I had it. I was there. And then... I hit the Van Wyck. They say no one's ever beaten the Van Wyck, but gentlemen, I tell you this - I came as close as anyone ever has. And if it hadn't been for that five-car-pile-up on Rockaway Boulevard, that numbskull would be on a plane for Seattle right now instead of looking for a parking space downstairs."

I hope this answered all of your questions. Thanks for the question and please feel free to write again. If you found this answer helpful, positive feedback is always appreciated. :)

Best wishes,
yada yada yada,
Ariela
