I`m not that great with specific titles or dates but I do tend to gather more information than the average person about the real names and other work by actors in all shows, especially a show like this one that I`ve innumerable times.

Seinfeld - Seinfeld & Steinbrenner jokes

Expert: Damian - 7/16/2007

Question
Over the weekend I was watching some of the Seinfeld DVD box sets.  It made me curious about something regarding all of the Steinbrenner jokes, parodies, and put-downs made by Jerry and George.  Did Steinbrenner ever react or make any comments about this?  He seems like a no-nonsense person so I doubt he liked it.  But then, who knows.  If you have any information about this please let me know.
Thank you!

Answer
Wow... I didn't have access to my e-mail for quite some time (and to be honest I don't rely on it very much) and I totally missed this question. I'm really, really, really sorry. I hope that you've found an answer to this question already if you were curious enough to ask a so-called expert, but if not, I do have some information I probably should have been able to give you a month ago:

George Steinbrenner was a big fan of the show, and must have enjoyed his parody, because he was scheduled to make a guest-starring appearance on the show during the season finale where George's fiancee Susan has her little toxic stamp incident, but for whatever reason, he wasn't able to do it.

The first time I heard that story about his appearance it was said that Steinbrenner wasn't happy with the script containing the death of a character and declined, but a more recent article I read about his scheduled appearance was that the episode was long on time and since his scene was irrelevant to the plot it was deleted. That article also said that the scene was available as a deleted scene on the box set, so if it's there, I guess you can take the second story at face value.

Please accept my apology for my belated response.

Damian
