Senior Living - Question???

Question
Hi, I just got my License for Adult Foster Care and now I do not know how to find Senior Citizens to live in my home.  I have private and semi private rooms.  I have tried to find an agency, but they seem to tell me that the wait is long for placement.  My question is there any place where I can go to find Senior Citizens that would like to live in my home?  I have heard of going to Hospitals, but I do not have a clue who to talk to or where to begin.  Please if you have any information I would appreciate it if you let me know.. Thank you so much!!!

Answer
Daniela:

I'm not sure what state you're in, but I would start with the agency that taught your classes to see if they may be able to assist you. As far as Hospitals, alot of the placement agencies have approached them.
You may want to check with a local Area Agency on Aging. I've been hearing with the economy and job losses that alot more families are taking in mom or dad to make ends meet right now. It may be a little tougher to find residents right now but family situations always change.
If you accept Medicaid, you may want to check with case managers at the Medicaid office in your city.

I hope this information helps you.

Sincerely,
Alan B.
