AboutSal Expertise I am privileged to be able to offer an alternative insight into the complicated world of Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA) theology. I will rely heavily on the Bible, but will also consider history and use logic in exposing deficiencies in SDA teachings. I would ask anyone who is considering becoming a SDA or if you are already in the SDA church, but are searching for the truth, to please allow me to offer a different explanation for the claims of the SDA. Remember : "The truth will set you free" (John 8:32). I can answer your questions pertaining to the beliefs and history of the SDA. I am not able to answer questions concerning spirituality or church discipline.
Experience I have extensively studied the theology of the Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA) for a number of years. I have many books and tape sets produced by experts in this field of study. I have debated current members of the SDA church. I have a great desire to help these people see the truth.

Question Dear Sal:
You claim Ellen White was not of God, but her ministry is a fulfillment of Joel 2:28: "And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions." This is what Ellen White did as God's servant.
Thanks, Linda
Answer Dear Linda:
Thank you for your statement. I appreciate you taking the time to share it with me.
Firstly, Ellen G. White (EGW) certainly did make claims of dreams and visions. However, the verse you cited says, “your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions”. Please note “men” not “women”. This excludes EGW as a possible fulfillment of Joel 2:28.
Secondly, the part of the verse that does mention females, “your daughters shall prophesy” is not helpful to your position. The SDAs that I correspond with claim EGW was not a prophet! Therefore, “daughters” could not refer to EGW. If you disagree with other SDAs and do consider EGW a prophet just let me know.
Thirdly, St. Peter’s inspired interpretation is at odds with yours. St. Peter interpreted Joel’s prophecy as referring to the out-pouring of the Holy Spirit on the first Pentecost. “But this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel” (Acts 2:16). So we can be sure that Joel was looking forward to the day of Pentecost. He foresaw the wonders of the apostolic age that began with the promised coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles on that great day of Pentecost.
