About Sal
Expertise I am privileged to be able to offer an alternative insight into the complicated world of Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA) theology. I will rely heavily on the Bible, but will also consider history and use logic in exposing deficiencies in SDA teachings. I would ask anyone who is considering becoming a SDA or if you are already in the SDA church, but are searching for the truth, to please allow me to offer a different explanation for the claims of the SDA. Remember : "The truth will set you free" (John 8:32). I can answer your questions pertaining to the beliefs and history of the SDA. I am not able to answer questions concerning spirituality or church discipline.
Experience I have extensively studied the theology of the Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA) for a number of years. I have many books and tape sets produced by experts in this field of study. I have debated current members of the SDA church. I have a great desire to help these people see the truth.

Question I need your help.
My friend invited me to her church (she is SDA). They were having communion so I thought no big deal, I’ve done that in my church. But before it started everyone went to other rooms and washed each others feet! I found this totally humiliating and was uncomfortable with the whole thing. Please point me to a bible verse that I can share with my friend to prove to her that this is unbiblical and not something Christians need to do.
Answer Dear Sister Rose:
I don't believe that there is anything in the Bible against footwashing. I personally am against footwashing as a requirement. The Bible does not say that we must perform this ritual. The Lord's Supper is the requirement for Christians. "For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, 'This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me'" (1 Corinthians 11:23-25). So you are correct that Christians do not need to perform footwashing. Modesty should prevent mixed footwashing unless the couple is married. No one should be required to perform footwashing in order to receive communion.
God Be With You,
Sal
