About Anthony
Expertise
Can one know God and not keep His commandments? Let John answer (1Jn2:4). He that says, I know Him and keeps not His commandments (including the 4th) is a liar and the truth is not in him. Since Seventh-Day Adventists derive their teachings from the Holy Bible, I will answer questions on any Biblically related subject or topic and questions on distinct Adventist practice and doctrine. Remember Paul`s words that state in the last days there will be deceivers seeking to lead astray many, yet the sincere believer can take comfort in the Lord`s promise that anyone desiring to know His truth will know it. May the Lord bless you as you seek Him.

Experience
I graduated from an Adventist University with a major in Behavioral Science and a minor in religion including an intermediate study of the Greek written language. I earned a master in religion from Liberty University a Baptist seminary. I have been a student of the Bible and of Biblical history for over 30 years.

Seventh-Day Adventists - Ten Commandments & the Sabbath

Expert: Anthony - 10/10/2009

Question
Hi Anthony - This is not a question so much as a thank you.  I've just stumbled onto this website and was reading all the questions and answers from the "experts".  I wanted to say thank you for your answers.  Your Biblical knowledge is very much appreciated and needed.  I fear for people like Sal, who are lost in their own deception.  He teaches others to fall away from the true word of God and for this I fear for him.  He is teaching others to disobey the Lord and unfortunately, he will reap the rewards for that.  When I see questions and answers regarding the Sabbath, people forget to mention Genesis 2:1-3.  This is where the Sabbath was created, instituted and made holy. And those who continually disregard the 4th commandment (like Sal) and say it no longer is valid, and say it was "for the Jews" forget that our God instituted the Sabbath right at creation!  There were no Jews then.  Only Adam & Eve.  And just like He sanctified and made holy marriage, in the last days, those are the two institutions that God created that will come under attack by Satan.  And he will use "wolves in sheep's clothing" to do it. Churches and other so-called Christians are saying the Sabbath no longer has to be kept, that all you have to do is love Christ.  And marriage also. Its under attack by those who want to tear it down and make it something that any two people can enter into.  Well, I just wanted to say good work Anthony.  Be encouraged!  You will see folks in heaven who are there because of your leading.  And Sal will see those out of heaven who he led there....God have mercy.

Answer

Thanks for your concern Diana. I’m glad that there are those who actually understand Scripture and don’t apply their own interpretations.  Concerning the Sabbath as you mention there are scores and scores of passages that expose the deceptions and craftiness of unholy teachers that claim the 4th commandment no longer applies.  They conveniently “forget” that “the Sabbath was made for man.”  And for those that claim there is nothing in the New Testament commanding Sabbath worship I suppose they overlook such clear passages as Luke  23:56 “…… and they rested the sabbath day according to the commandment ,”  or the apostle John in AD 90 stating in Revelation 1:10 that “he was in the spirit on the Lord’s day.”   Although the day is not identified in this verse it does prove that the Lord has a special day.  And then later on in that same book John when given a vision of the temple in heaven, of all things to write about he deems the most important thing he saw was the ark of the covenant which as we know contains the 10 commandments.  The New Testament also contains the words of Jesus who when looking into the future 40 years after His death and resurrection in admonishing His disciples concerning the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70 tells them to pray that their escape from the city be not on the Sabbath day which would interfere with the sanctity of that day.  Note the implication.  Christ still expected His disciples to be observing the Sabbath 40 years after His resurrection (Matthew 24:20).  And then of course in Isaiah 66:23  he states that all in the new earth will come and worship each month (new moon) and each Sabbath day.  “ And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.”  But of course you know all these verses and more.  Concerning our friend, he exhibits all the traits of his father the devil who was a liar and deceiver from the beginning.  About 3 or so years ago this fellow would write me with questions concerning the Sabbath and the commandments and what SDA’s believe.  He seemed sincere enough but about 6 months later he announced that he was now a member of allexperts.  He, like his father used deception and guile.  This fellow you mention is a staunch papist and places the pope and his writings above God and the Scriptures.  He has no business masquerading as an expert on Adventist doctrine since by his own admission his expertise consists of reading a few books and viewing some tapes.  He knows only what was fed to him by the Roman church.  His only purpose being there is to confuse and confound with his fanciful imagination.  I am just happy that every now and then a new believer using sound Scriptural interpretation sends him running for cover.  But anyway Paul was already warning Timothy that “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”  The good news is that those sincerely seeking the truth will recognize those that seemingly appear as an angel of light for who they really are.  Thanks again Diana for sharing your comments and concerns, anthony
