About Sal
Expertise
I am privileged to be able to offer an alternative insight into the complicated world of Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA) theology. I will rely heavily on the Bible, but will also consider history and use logic in exposing deficiencies in SDA teachings. I would ask anyone who is considering becoming a SDA or if you are already in the SDA church, but are searching for the truth, to please allow me to offer a different explanation for the claims of the SDA. Remember : "The truth will set you free" (John 8:32). I can answer your questions pertaining to the beliefs and history of the SDA. I am not able to answer questions concerning spirituality or church discipline.

Experience
I have extensively studied the theology of the Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA) for a number of years. I have many books and tape sets produced by experts in this field of study. I have debated current members of the SDA church. I have a great desire to help these people see the truth.

Education/Credentials
M.S. degree in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics

Seventh-Day Adventists - Daniel 7:25

Expert: Sal - 11/1/2009

Question
hello, Sal,
I see you are now discussing prophetic events (Daniel 7:25 - 10/15/2009). Would you be willing to discuss Daniel chapter 7 point by point? I think the readers here at All Experts would find it very interesting! You seem very knowledgeable and confident in what you are saying.
It seems you have a "Preterist" view of prophetic events. I use the historical method of interpreting Bible prophecy. We can start in Daniel 7 from the beginning of the chapter or better yet do a review of the prophecy in Daniel 2 then move to chapter 7.
Please let me know about this - let's keep it very professional and see where the Spirit takes us.
In Daniel 2 we have the image of metals. What is your interpretation/understanding of each of the following symbols:
Head of gold
Arms/breast of silver
Belly/thighs of brass (or bronze)
Legs of iron
10 toes/feet of part iron and part clay
Stone cut out without hands
Great mountain

Please give scripture references to prove points.
Thanks and God Bless,
David R.

Answer
Hello David R.:

In my research concerning the statue of Daniel 2 I discovered many differing interpretations. There seems to be two major interpretations. Both interpretations see the statue representing four successive kingdoms. One interpretation is:

Head of Gold---Babylon
Arms and chest of silver—Media
Stomach and thighs of brass—Persia
Legs of iron---Greece
Feet and toes of iron and clay—divided Greek kingdom
Stone—Messianic kingdom

The other major interpretation combines Media and Persia into one kingdom (silver). The Greek kingdom then is moved up to the brass kingdom. This leaves the iron kingdom to be Rome and the feet the divided Roman empire.

I hope this helps you.

God Bless,
Sal
