About Anthony
Expertise
Can one know God and not keep His commandments? Let John answer (1Jn2:4). He that says, I know Him and keeps not His commandments (including the 4th) is a liar and the truth is not in him. Since Seventh-Day Adventists derive their teachings from the Holy Bible, I will answer questions on any Biblically related subject or topic and questions on distinct Adventist practice and doctrine. Remember Paul`s words that state in the last days there will be deceivers seeking to lead astray many, yet the sincere believer can take comfort in the Lord`s promise that anyone desiring to know His truth will know it. May the Lord bless you as you seek Him.

Experience
I graduated from an Adventist University with a major in Behavioral Science and a minor in religion including an intermediate study of the Greek written language. I earned a master in religion from Liberty University a Baptist seminary. I have been a student of the Bible and of Biblical history for over 30 years.

Seventh-Day Adventists - Korea in Prophesy

Expert: Anthony - 6/30/2009

Question
What are the Adventists view on Korea in Prophesy? Does it pertain to the end times? I asked Ted. He did not know. I hope you can help me. Thank you.

Answer
Dear Mona,  There is no official statement by the SDA church concerning Korea in prophecy.  The Bible mentions certain nations in prophecy such as Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, Egypt, America, Israel and of course many other countries such as Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, etc. but as for Korea it would just be speculation until further light is revealed.  I know that with all the saber rattling from North Korea it would appear that something decisive is about to happen.  Matthew 24:29 in speaking of the last days does mention a major event that took place or will take place shortly before the Lord’s return.  The verse reads “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.”  The powers of heaven being shaken have been interpreted by some to mean a nuclear explosion.  This may have happened with those two atomic weapons exploded on Japan because in sequence this is after the “dark day” and after the “stars falling.”  It may be that this event “powers of the heavens shaken” is yet future since it is prophesized to happen just before the return of Christ.  To say that Korea will initiate a nuclear exchange would at this time be just conjecture although it is a possibility.  Thanks for your interest in prophecy but the most important prophecy is the soon return of Christ.  Please remember to stay close to the Lord during these end times and all will be well.  The Lord bless you as you seek Him, aa
