AboutSal Expertise I am privileged to be able to offer an alternative insight into the complicated world of Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA) theology. I will rely heavily on the Bible, but will also consider history and use logic in exposing deficiencies in SDA teachings. I would ask anyone who is considering becoming a SDA or if you are already in the SDA church, but are searching for the truth, to please allow me to offer a different explanation for the claims of the SDA. Remember : "The truth will set you free" (John 8:32). I can answer your questions pertaining to the beliefs and history of the SDA. I am not able to answer questions concerning spirituality or church discipline.
Experience I have extensively studied the theology of the Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA) for a number of years. I have many books and tape sets produced by experts in this field of study. I have debated current members of the SDA church. I have a great desire to help these people see the truth.

This question isn't necessarily about the SDA church but it is about MOST Christian churches. Maybe with your Catholic back ground you can explain this to me.
I have asked you a couple of questions prior to this one and my husband and I are currently search for a different church partly because of some of the insight both you and God's word have provided us.
My Question: why is it when I walked into a non-denominational church they seemed to hold the 10 commandments up as high as the SDA churches? My husband and I were expecting something different, maybe preaching Christ's love and love for brothers and sisters. But we were shocked to get a welcome kit that went through all 10 commandments and stated that we were sinners because we did not honor the Sabbath??
How can churches think it is okay to do this and still do worship on Sunday?
Answer Hi Rebecca:
Many Christians are confused over the Ten Commandments. Apparently the church you and your husband went to is such a church. The idea that worshiping on Sunday fulfills the 4th commandment is prevalent among many Christians. I believe that such an idea is wrong. Don't forget that there are nine eternal moral commands in the Old Covenant document and one ceremonial sign of that covenant. So a church preaching on the importance of keeping those moral commands is a good thing. The problem is when that church takes the obsolete ceremonial sign and tries to make it a moral command which it never was. If this non-denominational church that you mentioned is keeping the Old Covenant Sabbath then you should try to find another church since this one is as confused as the SDA Church. Nothing is wrong with preaching keeping God's commandments, but one must be careful to preach the commandments from the covenant that he is under.
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if I can be of further help.
