I can think of no better value machine than the Singer 319/320. It still does today everything you could want from a domestic machine apart from make a cup of tea. I am the proud owner of both models. The difference being the 320 has a removable work platform giving it a free arm capability making life easier for sewing hems etc. Plus giving easy bobbin access. Talking of bobbins, the 320 sews perfectly using standard needles but the 319 needed short points. I swapped the bobbin cases over and now  both machines can use standard needles. Try modifying your bobbin case and you too can use less expensive readily available standard needles.

Send me an email and I'll forward a pic of my bobbin case
