How do you measure the amount on sweatshirt knit ribbing?

HI Elizabeth,
The usual way of measuring for the amount of ribbing needed is as follows

1. measure the neckline or cuff.

2. decrease the measurement by 25% or 1/4 of the distance.

the easy way to figure this is to fold the total measurement in half and then in half again.  Now it is in 1/4's.

just use 3 of the 4 quarters of the ribbing and attach it to the neck or cuff or hem.
