Sewing - crotch of a dance costume

Expert: Vinette de Phillipe - 4/14/2008

Question
I am working on a one piece dance costume, a uni- tard style.  The suit needs a bit more rise in the crotch area, but has a one piece front and a 2 piece back so I am not sure about doing the usual U style crotch lengthening.  Any suggestions?

Answer
HI Nan
One thing I can think of is to add length to the pattern just above where the curve starts. Providing you do not have it cut out yet.

If cut out, then the only thing I can think of is to lengthen the U.

Since the back is in two pieces, that should be easy to do.

As to the front. I just do not know, as I can not see how the crotch area is cut.

HOpe this is of some help
