Question on my singer 221-1 cannot get bobbin thread to come up, any help appreciated! :)

Make sure you have the bobbin in the case correctly...which you probably do.
Check the tension. Set it about half way.
With the bobbbin out of the case, clean out all of the lint, dust, etc. that you can see with the sewing machine brush. Use a can of pressurized air to really blow out everything. If you can lift the feeddog plate up, clean under there also.
If these steps do not help, the machine may need some professional help.
