Sewing - How to Sew A Sweetheart Neckline

Expert: Vinette de Phillipe - 8/18/2008

Question
Hi!  I saw your answer on how to alter a neckline to be the shape I want, however, I need to know what I'm doing wrong as far as sewing the facing piece to the front of the dress - I can't seem to sew it without it puckering in the middle when I turn the facing into the inside of the dress.  I've had this same problem with a V-neck as well.  Can you help me?  Thanks!

Answer
HI Ronda,

Usually clipping the seam to almost the stitching helps with making the facing lay flat.  also you can lay the seam allowance to the facing and stitch thru both the facing and the seam allowance.

good luck with sewing.

hope this is of help.
