Sewing - MAKING AN ELVIS JUMPSUIT

Expert: Vinette de Phillipe - 9/29/2008

Question
I’m from the Philippines. I’ll be having a new Elvis Jumpsuit made soon. My old one had some flaws in it. I just can’t move when I’m wearing it. I can’t raise my hands because the crotch part hurts and looking up is difficult since the collar is too close to my nape. Can you tell me the secret on making such jumpsuit where I can move freely when I’m wearing it just like Elvis does or do you have a site where I can get a pattern that explains everything So that I could tell it to my tailor? Is there any hope for my old Jumpsuit to be altered? Thank you for reading my letter.

Answer
HI Eric
I do not know what the secret might be, but I found these two pattern sites.

The second one states it has the "Tips and Tricks to turn a basic pattern into a fully lined Pro Suit."

I hope these will be of help to your tailor
