Sewing/attaching lace to a veil

Question
Hi!  I am making a veil for my friends wedding.  I made all my daughter's veils but this one has lace attached to the tulle.  It is a cathedral length veil.  The lace will be across the bottom and about 24" up the side.  The question:  should I hand sew the lace or glue it.  If glue is the answer, what kind of glue.  I already made the elbow length veil and I hand sewed the lace.  The lace has a lot of beading so I could not sew it on the machine.

Thanks so much,

Sue

Answer
Dear Sue,
To me, a wedding veil is something that very well might become an heirloom.  Which means it could possibly be passed down to a daughter, granddaughter, etc.  And saying that, I would never consider glue, never ever!  But, this is a personal opinion.  I would not even know what kind of glue you could use that would not be somewhat brittle and semi-permanent at best.  I may be old-fashioned, but I would hand sew that lace even though it might be a tedious process.

Good luck and best wishes to your friend! It sounds as if she will be on the receiving end of a very beautiful veil.
