Sewing/Tailored twin bedskirt with split corners

Question
Hello!  I want to make a split corner tailored bedskirt for an unusual bed.   As you can see from the photo it is a link spring attached to a headboard and footboard.  The measurements are as follows:
Height from floor to top of frame = 13.75"
Length of frame = 76.25  ( 38.125" when divided by 2 for each side panel)
Width of frame = 36.5"

I plan to use some heavy weight fabric I have on hand for the decking since it will take some abuse from the springs.  I plan to use 54 " wide 100% cotton woven striped ticking fabric for the skirt itself.  I would like to have a pleat on the center of each long side, and an appropriate finishing for the split corners.

Now for my questions!
1)  Would you agree that it is not necessary for me to line the ticking fabric?
2)  Can you suggest how I can do the split corners properly?
3)  Can you tell me what kind of pleat to make and how much I need to add to the side section for it?

Thanks so much for your help!

Answer
Mother Barbara,

1.  I prefer all of my bed skirts, I don't like the ready-made look and it they hang much nicer.

2.  You will need a side hem on each skirt.  Sides and the end of the bed. Because of the split it would be difficult to do a gusset under the pleat.

3.  If you are going to do a tailored pleat I allow 6 inches for each pleat, so it will fold back 3 inches and rest on 3 inches.

Your photo did not arrive, so I hope this helps.
