Sewing/making a ruffled edge

Question

ruffled organza
Not sure what this hem is called but on organza it looks like a curled or slightly 'ruffled' edge. It may be rolled. How is that done?

Answer
Dear Ginger,
That is a rolled hem.  It is done using a rolled hemming foot that comes with most sewing machines.  The raw edge of the fabric is pulled up into the coil of the foot and stitched with a narrow zig zag stitch.

I hope this helps.

Good luck and happy sewing!
