Can you please tell me anything about my vintage sewing machine has no brand marking only a serial number 002844.and could you please tell me what i missing in the bobbin throttle..do i need a shuttle hook,shuttle hook cover,etc not sure whats missing,just learning..thanks so much.
Answer Hi Norma; from what I can see it needs a shuttle hook and cover...any shop that deals with used machines should have them...they were a pretty common sewing machine and could trade parts with other makes of similar models...the are still a good machine and last for a lifetime...any of the old models should be able to interchange parts.
If you cannot find them at your local dealer try Google...
Depending on the mechanical knowledge off owner, I can answer just about any question they ask. One lady asked about her feed dogs not going back up, some machines will not go back up unless you turn the wheel over, (start sewing). It sounds simple but sometimes you never think of it.
I've been servicing sewing machines since 1989, I still service machines for Northwestern Ontario Canada. It is a large area with little or no service people and I can usually tell on the phone if it can be fixed by the owner.
Education/Credentials I took a 2 year apprentice course with a dealer who was looking to teach and hire. I worked for him for 8 years before moving up to the Northwest, Red Lake area of Ontario.
