Sewing/Sewing Machine Power Cord

I'm really needing to use my sewing machine and have for months, but in the move my power cord has gone missing! I know I can order a replacement one online, but is there no physical store I can walk into and purchase one, and if not, what on earth is that about? Thank you in advance for your time!

Hi Jenny,

I agree completely. Power cords are one of the most commonly misplaced sewing machine parts, and it seems like they should be stocked in any sewing store, along with the presser feet and various odds and ends.

If your machine is a popular brand (Singer/Janome/etc), you might be able to find a dealer who operates a retail location near you, and they might have a power cord on hand. Another option is Amazon; they carry all kinds of sewing parts, and delivery is usually quite speedy with them.

Best of luck!

I can answer many questions related to craft sewing, fashion design, pattern drafting, clothing alterations, clothing repair, and simple home decor sewing projects. I can not answer question about machine repair/maintenance, quilting, knitting, embroidery or needlepoint.

I have been designing and sewing clothing and accessories professionally since 2003. I have two years of experience teaching basic machine sewing classes for adults. I have experience altering clothing and drafting sewing patterns for women's wear. Currently I own a retail shop with a sewing studio, where I design and produce my line of women's wear, and also offer custom sewing to clients.

Although I'm mostly self taught, I have taken some advanced online pattern drafting and clothing alterations classes. Of course, nothing beats actual hands on work, and I have over ten years of experience in professional sewing and fashion design.
