I have this singer sewing chair says 1924 with awesome new york fabric. Condition is great. Does it have any value?

Hi Jessica,

That's such a cool chair, and the fabric is lovely!

As for value, I think you'd have to search the internet to see the price points that others are using to sell similar chairs.

I do know that Singer was very prolific in the 20th century; they made tons of machines and tons of accessories. Unfortunately, this means that most of their products don't have large resale value, even the antiques (for example: it's pretty easy to find a 100-year-old Singer sewing machine on Craigslist or Ebay for about $150). Depending on how many chairs like yours are still kicking around, and the condition of your particular chair, you might get a little bit of money!

All the best,

I can answer many questions related to craft sewing, fashion design, pattern drafting, clothing alterations, clothing repair, and simple home decor sewing projects. I can not answer question about machine repair/maintenance, quilting, knitting, embroidery or needlepoint.

I have been designing and sewing clothing and accessories professionally since 2003. I have two years of experience teaching basic machine sewing classes for adults. I have experience altering clothing and drafting sewing patterns for women's wear. Currently I own a retail shop with a sewing studio, where I design and produce my line of women's wear, and also offer custom sewing to clients.

Although I'm mostly self taught, I have taken some advanced online pattern drafting and clothing alterations classes. Of course, nothing beats actual hands on work, and I have over ten years of experience in professional sewing and fashion design.
